Vasalgel

If men are ever going to be on equal footing with women where kids are concerned, male contraception is something that has to become a reality.

While there are hormonal based contraceptives in development, a safe, effective, & reversible hormonal contraception method for men is still a couple of decades away, at least.

We have done quite a bit of research into this topic & it is our belief that Vasalgel is the best hope for men in the short to medium term and, with adequate funding, could be as little as a 2 or 3 years away from becoming a reality.

Unlike hormonal drugs, Vasalgel does not actually interact chemically with the body at all. Instead it exploits the slight negative static electric charge that sperm cells have to filter them out of the semen as they pass through the Vas Defrens. It physically stops the sperm cells, and only the sperm cells, from passing through.

In fact, Vasalgel is not even considered to be a drug, it is instead classified as a medical device. This makes it far simpler, & therefore inherently safer than chemical contraceptives, and the path to market will be a lot faster due to the fact that the long & expensive trials that drugs need to go through are not required in this case.

Vasalgel is currently in the final stage of animal trials & has been shown to be reliably safe, effective, & reversible. It is hoped that human trails can begin as soon as possible.

To this end, I urge you all to please consider donating to The Parsemus Foundation to assist them in getting there. The amount needed to bring Vasalgel to market is tiny compared to the development costs of most pharmaceuticals. Currently they only need $60,000 to complete the animal trials so your donation will actually be a significant portion of that needed to make it a reality.

$60,000 to make male contraception a reality? That’s a stone cold bargain if you ask us. Help us make it happen!

Thanks,

UPDATE: 19th June, 2016

Some very exciting news…

The Parsemus Foundation, having already run multiple sucessful animal trials, have now completed their final round of tests on baboons and are now ready to take Vasalgel into human trials. Human trials are the final step required before bringing Vasalgel to market so this is something that we have been waiting for for a long time.

The Parsemus Foundation are once again relying on donations in order to pay for these trials. They are initially looking to raise $127,000 to cover the cost of mixing the polymer and filling the vials to the required regulatory standard. While this is twice what they needed to raise for animal trials, it is still ridiculously cheap compared to the costs involved in developing most pharmaceuticals.

Vasalgel is currently unique, there is nothing else like it under development and the most advanced hormonal contraceptive for men is still decades away at least. It really is the only hope that men have in the short to medium term so if you have a few bucks to spare, please consider donating and helping us to ensure that discreet, effective, safe, and reversible contraception for men can, for the first time in history (and 50+ years after it was provided to women) become a reality.

We’re nearly there guys!

  1. Recent advances towards an oral male contraceptive are more promising in the long term IMHO.

Vasilgel requires an invasive (yet minor) surgical procedure to insert the gel into, & to clear the gel from, the vas deferens. Many men may be hesitant to do that. Still, if all goes well, Vasilgel looks to only be a few years away from market whereas the male pill could be a decade away, if not more.

Personally, I’d like to see both developed & brought to market. Women have had a wide variety of contraception options available to them for decades, it’s high time that men had similar options.

    • “Personally, I’d like to see both developed & brought to market.” as would I however as far as I know Vasalgel is the closest to getting on the market and that is why it is the best hope at the moment

      • Yeah, I agree. Realistically, I think the oral pill is far too far away to be worth worrying about at this stage. I hope it continues to be developed but, as far as being anything worth getting behind, Vasalgel is the only game in town at this stage. It’s the only option that is realistically likely to come to market before, at the very earliest, 2025, probably more like 2035 if at all.

Given the billions that is invested in the development of pharmaceuticals it is absolutely amazing to think that all they need to get to human trials with Vasalgel is a mere US$60,000. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to the massive costs involved in the development of most pharmaceuticals.

If anyone reading this thinks Vasalgel is a good idea, I urge you to slip the Parsemus Foundation a spare $10 or $20. Hell, even a fiver would do…whatever you can spare.

Vasalgel is going to finally level the playing field when it comes to sex & parenthood & that will have knock on effects in marriage & other areas of male & female relationships where the power balance currently favours women heavily. It will even have economic knock on effects as there will be a LOT fewer unwanted kids born which means fewer single parents &, very likely, lower governmental welfare costs. It truly is a game changer, I urge you all to get behind it.
